Just did a check on the internet, using words such as 'pride, evil' ......

Wow, there is a whole lot of articles, sites on this. I am glad that more and more people are recognising the danger of pride, and how the feeling of being humble is already pride in itself.

simon,
we fail to realise that we are totally dependent on HIM on everything even to our next breath. everything that we hv is from & thru HIM. So without all this gifts from HIM we r simply nothing. for those who thinks highly of themselves & who think they r better than others well, think again. whatever HE gave to us, HE can take them away from us too :-)

simon, u shld continue & liven up this blog of urs. i c tht u started it last yr july. carry on wht u've already started. good title tho!

Suzie,

you are right on. Ever so often, I think I am totally in charge of, or responsible for, ..... With age, I come to realise that we are very dependent on our Creator. What to do? Pride is so much ingrained in people from birth.

I had wanted to publish the blog in July, but I lacked the will-power. After I saw how serious you were with yours, I decided to publish it right away. Thanks for the encouragement.

The antonym of pride is humbleness/humility.

Humbleness can be obtained only by falling upon Christ (Matthew 21:44). Any humility that a rises out of self will be a byproduct of pride.

Ezekiel 36:26 - And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

It was God himself who spoke against pride (in His Word to man). A heart of "stone" is unresponsive to the things of God. However, a heart of "flesh" can be evoked by stimulus.

Thats my 2 cents. There is probably pride in me as I type this, hoping you'll like this comment!
